After just having announced their big upcoming New Year's Eve show with rap superstar Jay-Z in Brooklyn, comes the news that Coldplay is going on a hiatus for a few years. During a show in Brisbane last week, wrapping up the Australian leg of their tour, Chris Martin revealed to the band's loyal fans that they don't want to stop, but this would be the last big show for about three years.
Coldplay is only playing a handful more shows, including one in Connecticut, before they make their way to Brooklyn for the New Year's Eve bash. It is unclear what the band will be doing in their time off from touring, if they're going to be working on new music or if they will play a few small-scale shows here and there. Only time will tell.
